Linasim-5 5 mg

Indication

Linasim-5 (linagliptin) is indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycaemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It may be used as monotherapy or in combination with other antidiabetic medicines such as metformin, sulfonylureas, or insulin.

Ingredients

• Linagliptin 5 mg

Direction

Usually one tablet once daily with or without food. Take exactly as prescribed by the physician.

Side effects

• Nasopharyngitis
• Hypoglycaemia when combined with sulfonylurea or insulin
• Hypersensitivity reactions including rash and urticaria
• Pancreatitis (rare)
• Arthralgia

Precautions

• Use with caution in patients with a history of pancreatitis
• Risk of hypoglycaemia when combined with sulfonylureas or insulin
• dose adjustment of those agents may be required
• Discontinue if symptoms of pancreatitis or serious hypersensitivity occur
• Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use
• stop and seek advice if irritation or allergy occurs
