Indication
Used to treat bacterial infections including urinary tract infections, respiratory tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, bone and joint infections, gastrointestinal infections, and sexually transmitted infections caused by susceptible organisms.
Ingredients
- Ciprofloxacin 500 mg
Direction
Adults: 250โ750 mg twice daily depending on severity, or as directed by physician. Swallow tablets whole with a full glass of water. May be taken with or without food. Store in a cool dark place. Keep out of reach of children.
Side effects
- Nausea
- vomiting
- diarrhoea
- or abdominal discomfort
- Headache or dizziness
- Skin rash or photosensitivity
- Tendon inflammation or rupture (rare)
- CNS effects including anxiety
- insomnia (rare)
Precautions
- Do not use in patients with known hypersensitivity to fluoroquinolones
- Avoid prolonged sun exposure during treatment
- Keep out of reach of children
- Store in a cool dark place
- Use with caution in patients with epilepsy or CNS disorders
- Avoid antacids
- iron
- or zinc within 2 hours of taking this medicine
