Indication
- Generalized epilepsy - Partial seizures - Bipolar disorder mania - Prophylaxis of manic episodes
Ingredients
- Sodium Valproate and Valproic Acid
Direction
Take orally once or twice daily as prescribed. Tablets must be swallowed whole and not crushed or chewed.
Side effects
- Weight gain
- Transient hair loss
- Hand tremors
- Nausea and gastric pain
- Decreased platelet count
Precautions
- High risk of birth defects
- Potential for severe liver damage
- Risk of life
- threatening pancreatitis
- Regular blood monitoring required
- Avoid in women of childbearing age without contraception
