Indication
- Postmenopausal osteoporosis - Osteoporosis in men - Prevention of bone fractures - Increase bone mass density
Ingredients
- Alendronate Sodium
Direction
Take one 70mg tablet once weekly on an empty stomach with a full glass of plain water. Do not lie down, eat, or take other medications for at least 30 minutes after administration.
Side effects
- Heartburn or acid reflux
- Abdominal pain
- Nausea or dyspepsia
- Musculoskeletal pain
- Esophageal irritation or ulcers
Precautions
- Do not lie down after ingestion
- Avoid if unable to sit upright
- Contraindicated in esophageal abnormalities
- Correct hypocalcemia before starting treatment
- Risk of osteonecrosis of the jaw
- Avoid in severe renal impairment
