Fenoget 200 200 mg

Indication

Fenoget 200 contains Fenofibrate, a fibric acid derivative lipid-lowering agent used as adjunct to diet for the treatment of severe hypertriglyceridaemia and mixed dyslipidaemia to reduce cardiovascular risk.

Ingredients

• Fenofibrate 200 mg (micronised)

Direction

Adults: 200 mg once daily orally with a meal. Swallow the capsule whole.

Side effects

• Common: nausea
• diarrhoea
• abdominal pain
• dyspepsia.
• Common: headache
• fatigue.
• Uncommon: myalgia
• increased creatine kinase.
• Rare: rhabdomyolysis — stop immediately.
• Uncommon: pancreatitis
• cholelithiasis.
• Rare: severe skin reactions
• hepatitis.

Precautions

• Contraindicated in severe renal impairment (eGFR < 30 mL/min).
• Contraindicated in severe hepatic impairment or active liver disease.
• Contraindicated in gallbladder disease.
• Avoid concomitant use with statins due to increased risk of myopathy/rhabdomyolysis.
• May enhance anticoagulant effect of warfarin — reduce warfarin dose and monitor INR.
• Monitor liver function and creatine kinase.
• Use with caution in renal impairment.
