Maalox Maux d'Estomac Hydroxyde d'Aluminium (460 mg), Hydroxyde de Magnésium (400 mg) per sachet

Indication

Maalox Maux d'Estomac is an antacid used for symptomatic relief of gastric discomfort, heartburn, acid reflux, and stomach pain due to excess gastric acid. Both aluminium and magnesium hydroxides work by neutralising gastric acid.

Ingredients

• Aluminium hydroxide 460 mg per sachet
• Magnesium hydroxide 400 mg per sachet

Direction

Adults and adolescents over 15 years: 1–2 sachets dissolved in water, 1.5–3 hours after meals and at bedtime. Do not exceed 6 sachets per day without medical advice.

Side effects

• Constipation (aluminium component).
• Diarrhoea (magnesium component at high doses).
• Aluminium and magnesium accumulation in renal failure (with prolonged use).

Precautions

• Use with caution in patients with renal impairment.
• May reduce absorption of other medications — take other drugs at least 2 hours before or after.
• Not recommended for long
• term unsupervised use.
• Consult a physician if symptoms persist beyond 2 weeks.
• Not recommended in children under 15 years without medical advice.
