Indication

Antacid suspension for relief of heartburn, acid indigestion, sour stomach, and gas discomfort. Used for symptomatic relief associated with gastritis and peptic ulcer.

Ingredients

• Aluminium hydroxide 320 mg per 5 mL
• Magnesium hydroxide 100 mg per 5 mL
• Simethicone 20 mg per 5 mL

Direction

Adults: 10–20 mL (2–4 teaspoonfuls) four times daily, taken 20–60 minutes after meals and at bedtime. Shake well before use.

Side effects

• Constipation.
• Diarrhoea.
• Nausea.

Precautions

• Use with caution in patients with renal impairment.
• May interfere with absorption of other medications
• administer at least 2 hours apart.
• Long
• term use may cause phosphate depletion.
• Consult a doctor if symptoms persist beyond 2 weeks.
• Keep out of reach of children.
