Indication
AMLO® (amlodipine) is a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker used for the treatment of hypertension and chronic stable angina. It reduces blood pressure and myocardial oxygen demand.
Ingredients
- Amlodipine 5 mg (as amlodipine besylate)
Direction
Adults: 5 mg once daily; may be increased to 10 mg once daily as needed. Take at the same time each day, with or without food.
Side effects
- Peripheral oedema (ankle/foot swelling) — most common.
- Flushing.
- Headache.
- Dizziness.
- Palpitations.
- Fatigue.
Precautions
- Do not use in patients with known hypersensitivity to amlodipine or other dihydropyridine compounds.
- Use with caution in severe aortic stenosis.
- May cause peripheral oedema — monitor patients regularly.
- Use with caution in hepatic impairment.
- Keep out of reach of children.
