Stadovas 5 5 mg

Indication

Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure) and prophylaxis of stable and vasospastic angina pectoris.

Ingredients

• Amlodipine besilate 5 mg

Direction

Adults: 5 mg once daily. Dose may be increased to a maximum of 10 mg once daily depending on clinical response. May be taken with or without food.

Side effects

• Peripheral oedema (ankle swelling).
• Flushing.
• Headache.
• Dizziness.
• Palpitations.
• Fatigue.
• Nausea.

Precautions

• Use with caution in patients with severe aortic stenosis
• cardiogenic shock
• or severe hepatic impairment.
• May cause vasodilatory hypotension
• especially at initiation.
• Avoid in patients with known hypersensitivity to dihydropyridine calcium channel blockers.
• Grapefruit juice may increase plasma levels — avoid concurrent intake.
• Monitor blood pressure regularly.
• Keep out of reach of children.
