Indication
Treatment of inflammatory and allergic conditions including rheumatoid arthritis, bronchial asthma, allergic disorders, skin diseases, and collagen vascular diseases.
Ingredients
- Methylprednisolone 4 mg
Direction
Adults: Initial dose 4–48 mg/day depending on condition severity, given in single or divided doses. Maintenance: Lowest effective dose. Dosing should be individualised and tapered gradually when discontinuing after prolonged use.
Side effects
- Fluid retention and weight gain.
- Hyperglycaemia.
- Insomnia.
- Mood changes and irritability.
- Osteoporosis (long
- term use).
- Susceptibility to infections.
- Cushingoid appearance (moon face
- weight gain) with long
- term use.
Precautions
- Contraindicated in systemic fungal infections and live vaccine administration.
- Long
- term use may cause adrenal suppression — do not discontinue abruptly.
- Risk of serious infections
- may mask signs of infection.
- Risk of osteoporosis with prolonged use — consider calcium and vitamin D supplementation.
- Monitor blood glucose — may cause hyperglycaemia.
- Use with caution in peptic ulcer disease

- and heart failure.
- Keep out of reach of children.
