Indication
Treatment of hypertension and prophylaxis of stable and vasospastic angina pectoris when lower doses are insufficient.
Ingredients
- Amlodipine besilate 10 mg
Direction
Adults: 10 mg once daily (maximum recommended dose). For patients newly initiating therapy, start at 5 mg once daily and titrate upward. Elderly: Start at 2.5–5 mg. Take with or without food.
Side effects
- Peripheral oedema (ankle swelling).
- Flushing.
- Headache.
- Dizziness.
- Palpitations.
- Fatigue.
- Nausea.
Precautions
- Use with caution in severe aortic stenosis and severe hepatic impairment.
- May cause vasodilatory hypotension.
- Grapefruit juice may increase plasma concentrations — avoid.
- Monitor blood pressure regularly.
- Keep out of reach of children.
