Almex 400 400mg

Indication

Used to treat intestinal worm infections including roundworm, hookworm, whipworm, pinworm (threadworm), and tapeworm. Also used in the treatment of hydatid disease and neurocysticercosis.

Ingredients

• Albendazole 400 mg

Direction

Adults and children over 2 years: 400 mg as a single dose for intestinal worms. For hydatid disease or neurocysticercosis, longer courses are required under medical supervision. Take with food.

Side effects

• Common: stomach pain
• nausea
• vomiting.
• Headache
• dizziness.
• Elevated liver enzymes (usually transient).
• Rarely: hair loss
• skin rash.

Precautions

• Not recommended in the first trimester of pregnancy — use effective contraception.
• Use with caution in patients with liver disease.
• Periodic liver function tests recommended during prolonged treatment.
• May rarely cause bone marrow suppression with long
• term use.
• Keep out of reach of children.
