Indication
A first-generation antihistamine used to relieve symptoms of allergic rhinitis, urticaria, and other allergic conditions such as sneezing, runny nose, and itchy eyes.
Ingredients
- Chlorpheniramine maleate 4 mg
Direction
Adults and children over 12 years: 1 tablet (4 mg) every 4–6 hours as needed. Maximum 24 mg in 24 hours. Children 6–12 years: 2 mg every 4–6 hours. Take with food.
Side effects
- Drowsiness
- sedation (common).
- Dry mouth
- blurred vision
- urinary retention.
- Paradoxical excitation in children.
Precautions
- Causes significant drowsiness — do not drive or operate machinery.
- Avoid alcohol and CNS depressants.
- Use with caution in patients with glaucoma
- urinary retention
- or BPH.
- Not recommended for children under 6 without medical advice.
- Keep out of reach of children.
