Vitamine C 500mg

Indication

Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) is used for the prevention and treatment of vitamin C deficiency (scurvy), and as a dietary supplement to support immune function, wound healing, and antioxidant activity.

Ingredients

• Ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) 500 mg

Direction

Adults: 500 mg once daily, or as directed by a physician. Take orally with water, with or without food. Effervescent tablets should be dissolved in a glass of water before taking.

Side effects

• Nausea or diarrhoea at high doses.
• Stomach cramps.
• Risk of kidney stone formation at very high doses.
• Haemolytic anaemia in individuals with G6PD deficiency at high doses.

Precautions

• Doses above 1000 mg daily may cause gastrointestinal upset or increase the risk of kidney stones in susceptible individuals.
• Use with caution in patients with a history of kidney stones or haemochromatosis.
• High doses can interfere with certain laboratory tests (e.g. blood glucose
• urine tests).
• Consult a doctor before use if you have renal impairment.
