Cef-3 100mg

Indication

Cef-3 contains cefixime, a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections including otitis media, pharyngitis, tonsillitis, bronchitis, urinary tract infections, and uncomplicated gonorrhoea.

Ingredients

• Cefixime 100 mg

Direction

Adults and children over 12 years: 200–400 mg daily as a single dose or divided into two doses. Children: 8 mg/kg/day. Take for the full prescribed course. Follow the prescriber's instructions.

Side effects

• Diarrhoea
• nausea
• abdominal pain — common.
• Skin rash or allergic reaction.
• Headache
• dizziness — uncommon.
• Pseudomembranous colitis — rare.

Precautions

• Do not use if allergic to cephalosporins or penicillins.
• Use with caution in patients with renal impairment — dose adjustment may be required.
• May cause false
• positive urine glucose tests.
• Keep out of reach of children.
• Complete the full course of treatment even if feeling better.
