Imoryl Anti-diarrhea

Indication

Imoryl is an antidiarrhoeal agent used for the symptomatic treatment of acute non-specific diarrhoea and chronic diarrhoea associated with inflammatory bowel disease.

Ingredients

• Loperamide hydrochloride 2 mg

Direction

Adults: Initial dose 4 mg (2 capsules/tablets), then 2 mg after each loose stool. Maximum dose: 16 mg per day. Discontinue if no improvement within 48 hours. Not for use in children under 12 years without medical advice.

Side effects

• Constipation.
• Abdominal cramps or pain.
• Nausea and vomiting.
• Dizziness.
• Dry mouth.
• Allergic reactions (rash
• urticaria) — rare.

Precautions

• Do not use in patients with bloody diarrhoea or high fever (may indicate bacterial infection).
• Discontinue if abdominal distension or constipation occurs.
• Not for use in children under 2 years.
• Avoid in acute ulcerative colitis or antibiotic
• associated colitis.
• Keep out of reach of children.
