Adipin 5 Amlodipine 5mg

Indication

Adipin 5 is a calcium channel blocker indicated for the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure) and stable angina pectoris. It reduces blood pressure and myocardial oxygen demand by dilating peripheral and coronary arteries.

Ingredients

• Amlodipine besilate equivalent to Amlodipine 5 mg

Direction

Adults: 5 mg once daily. The dose may be increased to a maximum of 10 mg once daily depending on individual patient response. May be taken with or without food.

Side effects

• Peripheral oedema (ankle/foot swelling) — common.
• Flushing
• headache
• dizziness.
• Palpitations
• fatigue.
• Nausea
• abdominal pain (uncommon).
• Rarely: gingival hyperplasia
• allergic reactions.

Precautions

• Use with caution in patients with severe aortic stenosis or liver impairment.
• Hypotension may occur
• monitor blood pressure regularly.
• Do not abruptly discontinue therapy in angina patients without physician guidance.
• Use with caution during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
• May cause peripheral oedema (ankle swelling).
• Keep out of reach of children.
