AMOKLAVIN-BID Amoxicillin 200mg + Clavulanic acid 28mg

Indication

AMOKLAVIN-BID is a beta-lactam/beta-lactamase inhibitor combination antibiotic indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections caused by susceptible amoxicillin-resistant, beta-lactamase-producing organisms, including respiratory tract infections, otitis media, urinary tract infections, and skin infections.

Ingredients

• Amoxicillin trihydrate equivalent to Amoxicillin 200 mg
• Clavulanic acid (as potassium clavulanate) 28.5 mg

Direction

Dosage depends on formulation (tablet or suspension) and age/weight. Typically administered twice daily. Adults: Augmentin-equivalent dosing per physician instruction. Children: weight-based dosing as directed. Take at the start of a meal.

Side effects

• Anaphylaxis (rare).
• Cholestatic jaundice (rare).
• Candidiasis with prolonged use.

Precautions

• Contraindicated in penicillin hypersensitivity.
• Contraindicated in previous Augmentin
• associated hepatic dysfunction.
• Use with caution in renal impairment.
• Monitor liver function if used for prolonged periods.
• Keep out of reach of children.
