AMOKLAVIN-BID Amoxicillin 200mg + Clavulanic acid 28mg

Indication

AMOKLAVIN-BID is a penicillin-type antibiotic combined with a beta-lactamase inhibitor, used for the treatment of bacterial infections including respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and ear infections caused by susceptible organisms.

Ingredients

• Amoxicillin trihydrate equivalent to Amoxicillin 200 mg
• Clavulanic acid (as potassium clavulanate) 28 mg

Direction

Children: Dose based on body weight as directed by a doctor. Adults: For low-dose formulations, typically used as paediatric suspension; refer to prescribing physician. Take every 12 hours with a meal to reduce GI side effects.

Side effects

• Diarrhoea.
• Nausea and vomiting.
• Skin rash.
• Abdominal discomfort.
• Elevated liver enzymes.
• Allergic reactions including urticaria or anaphylaxis (rare).
• Candidiasis (oral or vaginal) with prolonged use.

Precautions

• Not for use in patients with known hypersensitivity to penicillins
• cephalosporins
• or beta
• lactam antibiotics.
• Use with caution in patients with history of penicillin allergy.
• May cause diarrhoea
• consult doctor if severe (possible Clostridioides difficile colitis).
• Use with caution in hepatic impairment
• monitor liver function.
• Complete the full course of treatment as prescribed.
• Keep out of reach of children.
