Ibuprofen 200 Ibuprofen BP 200mg

Indication

A non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used for the relief of mild to moderate pain (headache, dental pain, menstrual pain, muscular pain), fever reduction, and inflammation.

Ingredients

• Ibuprofen 200 mg

Direction

Adults and children 12 years and over: 200–400 mg every 4–6 hours with food or milk. Maximum 1200 mg per day (OTC). Do not exceed 2400 mg per day under medical supervision. Take with a full glass of water.

Side effects

• Nausea
• dyspepsia
• abdominal pain
• diarrhoea
• constipation.
• Gastrointestinal ulceration or bleeding.
• Headache
• dizziness.
• Fluid retention.
• Elevated blood pressure.
• Rarely: renal impairment
• hepatic effects
• allergic reactions.

Precautions

• Contraindicated in patients with active peptic ulcer
• gastrointestinal bleeding
• or severe renal
• hepatic
• or cardiac impairment.
• Contraindicated in the third trimester of pregnancy.
• Avoid if hypersensitive to aspirin or other NSAIDs.
• Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration possible.
• May increase the risk of cardiovascular events with prolonged use.
• Not recommended for children under 12 years (200 mg tablet) without medical advice.
