Indication
A calcium channel blocker used for the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure) and angina pectoris. Used when lower doses are insufficient for adequate blood pressure control.
Ingredients
- Amlodipine besylate equivalent to Amlodipine 10 mg
Direction
Adults: 10 mg once daily. Take at the same time each day with or without food. This is the maximum recommended daily dose.
Side effects
- Ankle oedema (swelling)
- flushing.
- Headache
- dizziness.
- Fatigue
- palpitations.
- Nausea.
- Rarely: severe hypotension
- exacerbation of angina.
Precautions
- Contraindicated in patients with severe hypotension or obstructive outflow obstruction.
- Contraindicated in cardiogenic shock.
- Use with caution in patients with severe hepatic impairment.
- May cause ankle oedema — inform your doctor.
- Do not stop taking without consulting your doctor.
- Consult a doctor before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
- Use with caution in elderly patients.
