Indication
Used for the prevention and treatment of Vitamin C deficiency (scurvy). Also used as a dietary supplement to support immune function, wound healing, and antioxidant activity.
Ingredients
- Ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) 500 mg
Direction
Adults: Take 1 tablet once daily with or after a meal, or as directed by a physician. Swallow whole with water. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose unless under medical supervision.
Side effects
- Nausea or gastrointestinal discomfort
- Diarrhoea at high doses
- Kidney stones with prolonged high
- dose use (rare)
- Headache
Precautions
- High doses (above 1000 mg/day) may cause gastrointestinal discomfort and diarrhoea.
- Use with caution in patients with a history of kidney stones (renal oxalate stones).
- Patients with glucose
- 6
- phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency should use with caution.
- May interfere with laboratory tests for glucose and occult blood.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Consult a doctor before use in patients with haemochromatosis or other iron overload conditions.
