HI-DINE Solution 10% Povidone iodine solution, 20ml

Indication

Antiseptic for the disinfection of wounds, cuts, and abrasions. Also used for pre-operative skin disinfection and treatment of minor skin infections.

Ingredients

• Povidone
• iodine 10% solution (equivalent to 1% available iodine)
• 20mL

Direction

Apply undiluted directly to the affected area using a cotton swab or gauze. May be diluted 1:10 in water for wound irrigation. Apply up to 3 times daily. Do not cover with an occlusive dressing.

Side effects

• Transient skin irritation
• burning sensation.
• Skin discoloration (temporary).
• Rare: allergic reactions
• thyroid dysfunction with large
• area application.

Precautions

• Do not use in patients with thyroid disease or those receiving lithium therapy.
• Avoid use on large open wounds for extended periods.
• Do not use in neonates or premature babies.
• Avoid contact with eyes.
• Can stain clothing and skin (stain is temporary).
• Keep out of reach of children.
