LORAMIDE Capsule 2mg 2mg

Indication

Loperamide 2 mg capsules are used for the symptomatic treatment of acute diarrhoea and chronic diarrhoea associated with inflammatory bowel disease. It slows gut motility and reduces fluid and electrolyte loss.

Ingredients

• Loperamide hydrochloride 2 mg

Direction

Adults: Initial dose of 4 mg (2 capsules), followed by 2 mg (1 capsule) after each loose stool. Maximum 16 mg (8 capsules) per day. Children 8–12 years: 2 mg three times daily (use only under medical supervision). Do not exceed recommended dose.

Side effects

• Constipation.
• Flatulence and bloating.
• Nausea and vomiting.
• Dizziness.
• Abdominal cramps.
• Skin rash or urticaria (rare).

Precautions

• Not recommended for children under 6 years without medical supervision.
• Do not use for acute dysentery (bloody diarrhoea with fever).
• Discontinue if no improvement within 48 hours and consult a doctor.
• Use with caution in patients with liver disease.
• Do not use if abdominal distension develops.
• Patients with HIV/AIDS should consult a doctor before use.
• Keep out of reach of children.
