KANA.Zym (Digestive Enzymes) Pancreatin

Indication

KANA.Zym is a digestive enzyme supplement containing pancreatin, used to aid digestion of fats, carbohydrates, and proteins in patients with exocrine pancreatic insufficiency (e.g., chronic pancreatitis, cystic fibrosis, post-pancreatectomy) and general digestive disorders.

Ingredients

• Pancreatin (standardised pancreatic enzyme extract)

Direction

Adults: Take 1–3 capsules/tablets with each main meal and 1 capsule/tablet with snacks, or as directed by a physician. Swallow whole with water during or immediately after meals. Do not crush or chew.

Side effects

• Nausea.
• Abdominal discomfort or bloating.
• Diarrhoea or constipation.
• Skin irritation around the mouth (in children).

Precautions

• Do not use if allergic to pork
• derived products (pancreatin is of porcine origin).
• High doses may cause hyperuricaemia — use with caution in patients with gout.
• Do not crush or chew coated preparations.
• Consult a doctor for appropriate dosage in children.
• Keep out of reach of children.
