Indication
Biozom 40 is a proton pump inhibitor used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcers, and conditions of excess stomach acid. It reduces the production of gastric acid.
Ingredients
- Omeprazole 40 mg
Direction
Adults: 1 capsule (40 mg) once daily, preferably before a meal. Treatment duration as directed by a physician. For peptic ulcer, usual course is 4β8 weeks.
Side effects
- Headache
- dizziness.
- Nausea
- diarrhea
- constipation
- or abdominal pain.
- Rare: hypomagnesemia
- bone fractures with long
- term use
- allergic reactions.
Precautions
- Inform your doctor if you have liver disease.
- Long
- term use may reduce magnesium and vitamin B12 levels.
- May mask symptoms of gastric cancer
- exclude malignancy before use.
- Avoid abrupt discontinuation without physician advice.
- Keep out of reach of children.
