Indication

Physiological serum (normal saline 0.9%) is a sterile isotonic solution used for nasal rinsing and irrigation to relieve nasal congestion, clear mucus, and moisten dry nasal passages. It is also used for wound cleansing and eye rinsing.

Ingredients

• Sodium chloride 0.9% isotonic saline solution

Direction

For nasal use: instill or spray into each nostril as needed, 2–6 times daily. Tilt head or use appropriate position for nasal irrigation. For eye rinsing: use one sterile vial per application. For wound cleaning: irrigate wound gently.

Side effects

• Generally very well tolerated
• Mild nasal irritation (rare)

Precautions

• Single
• use unit dose vials — discard after use.
• Do not use if packaging is damaged.
• For nasal use
• keep head tilted to avoid swallowing large amounts.
• Keep out of reach of children.
• Consult a physician if symptoms persist beyond 7 days.
