Acemuc 200mg

Indication

Acemuc (Acetylcysteine) is a mucolytic agent used to loosen and thin mucus secretions in the respiratory tract. It is indicated for acute and chronic respiratory conditions including bronchitis, bronchiectasis, asthma, cystic fibrosis, and as an adjunct therapy in respiratory infections.

Ingredients

• Acetylcysteine (N
• acetylcysteine) 200 mg

Direction

Adults: 200 mg 3 times daily or 600 mg once daily (effervescent). Children 2–6 years: 100 mg 3 times daily; children 7–14 years: 200 mg 2–3 times daily. Dissolve in water or take as directed. Take after meals.

Side effects

• Nausea
• vomiting
• stomach upset
• Bronchospasm in sensitive patients (especially asthmatics)
• Skin rash or urticaria (rare)
• Stomatitis (rare)

Precautions

• Use with caution in patients with asthma — may cause bronchospasm in some patients.
• Use with caution in patients with peptic ulcer disease.
• Do not mix with antibiotics in the same solution.
• Adequate fluid intake should be maintained during use.
• Keep out of reach of children.
