Clofenac SR 100 mg

Indication

Used for relief of pain and inflammation in conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, acute gout, acute musculoskeletal disorders, periarthritis, low back pain, sprains and strains, fractures and dislocations, postoperative pain, and some painful inflammatory conditions after appropriate medical assessment.

Ingredients

• Diclofenac Sodium 100 mg

Direction

For oral use in adults. Swallow the slow-release tablet whole with liquid, preferably during or after food. Do not crush or chew. Usual slow-release dosing is 100 mg once daily unless a clinician instructs otherwise. Not suitable for use in children.

Side effects

• Common side effects include nausea
• headache
• diarrhoea
• epigastric pain
• loss of appetite
• dyspepsia
• flatulence
• abdominal cramps
• vertigo
• and dizziness
• Skin rash or eruptions may occur and urticaria is rare
• Rare serious reactions include kidney injury
• liver dysfunction
• blood cell abnormalities
• hypersensitivity reactions
• bronchospasm
• and serious skin reactions

Precautions

• Do not use if allergic to diclofenac or if aspirin or other NSAIDs trigger asthma
• urticaria
• or acute rhinitis
• Do not use in active or suspected peptic ulcer
• gastrointestinal bleeding
• bone marrow depression
• or severe heart failure
• Use caution in elderly patients and in patients with renal impairment
• hepatic impairment
• ulcerative colitis
• Crohn disease
• bleeding disorders
• or cardiovascular risk factors
• Stop use and seek medical advice if rash
• signs of allergy
• gastrointestinal bleeding
• or liver problems occur
• Avoid combining with other NSAIDs unless specifically advised by a clinician
