Indication

- Otitis media (middle ear infection) - Pharyngitis and tonsillitis - Acute bronchitis and other respiratory tract infections - Uncomplicated urinary tract infections

Ingredients

• Cefixime 100 mg/5 mL

Direction

Reconstitute the dry syrup with water as directed before first use. The usual pediatric dose is 8 mg/kg/day by mouth, once daily or in two divided doses. Shake well before each dose.

• Diarrhea
• Nausea and abdominal pain
• Flatulence and indigestion
• Skin rash
• Headache or dizziness

Precautions

• Do not use in patients with a known allergy to cephalosporins
• Use with caution in patients with penicillin allergy (cross
• reactivity possible)
• Adjust dose in significant renal impairment
• Prolonged use may cause overgrowth of non
• susceptible organisms or Clostridioides difficile diarrhea
