Indication

- Acute otitis media - Pharyngitis and tonsillitis - Acute bronchitis and other respiratory infections - Uncomplicated urinary tract infections - Uncomplicated gonorrhea

Ingredients

• Cefixime 100 mg/5 mL

Direction

Shake well before use. The usual pediatric dose is 8 mg/kg/day given once daily or divided every 12 hours. Use the measuring spoon or cup provided and complete the full course as prescribed.

Side effects

• Diarrhea
• Nausea and abdominal pain
• Indigestion or heartburn
• Skin rash
• Dizziness or headache

Precautions

• Do not use in patients with known cephalosporin allergy
• caution if penicillin
• allergic
• Inform your doctor of any kidney problems
• as dose may need adjustment
• Tell your doctor if severe or persistent diarrhea develops during or after treatment
• Complete the full course even if symptoms improve
