Indication
- Treatment of bacterial infections caused by susceptible organisms - Urinary tract infections - Respiratory tract infections - Septicemia - Neonatal sepsis - Burns and skin infections
Ingredients
- Gentamicin 80mg per 2ml
Direction
For I.M. or I.V. use. Dosage as directed by physician. Adults: 3-5 mg/kg/day in divided doses.
Side effects
- Nephrotoxicity
- Ototoxicity (hearing loss
- vestibular damage)
- Neuromuscular blockade
Precautions
- Monitor renal function during treatment
- Risk of nephrotoxicity and ototoxicity
- Avoid in patients with known hypersensitivity to aminoglycosides
- Use with caution in renal impairment
