Indication

- Intestinal worm infections (roundworm, hookworm, whipworm, pinworm, tapeworm) - Strongyloidiasis - Giardiasis in children - Hydatid disease (at higher doses)

Ingredients

• Albendazole 200 mg/5 mL

Direction

Take orally, usually as a single dose; for some infections a 3-day course is used. Shake well before use.

Side effects

• Abdominal pain and nausea
• Headache and dizziness
• Temporary hair loss (with prolonged use)
• Elevated liver enzymes
• Rare allergic skin reactions

Precautions

• Avoid during pregnancy
• especially the first trimester
• Monitor liver function and blood counts with prolonged high
• dose use
• Use with caution in liver impairment
• Exclude pregnancy before treatment in women of childbearing age
