Indication
- Intestinal worm infections (roundworm, hookworm, whipworm, pinworm, tapeworm) - Strongyloidiasis - Giardiasis in children - Hydatid disease (at higher doses)
Ingredients
- Albendazole 200 mg/5 mL
Direction
Take orally, usually as a single dose; for some infections a 3-day course is used. Shake well before use.
Side effects
- Abdominal pain and nausea
- Headache and dizziness
- Temporary hair loss (with prolonged use)
- Elevated liver enzymes
- Rare allergic skin reactions
Precautions
- Avoid during pregnancy
- especially the first trimester
- Monitor liver function and blood counts with prolonged high
- dose use
- Use with caution in liver impairment
- Exclude pregnancy before treatment in women of childbearing age
