Indication

Vitamin B6 deficiency, nausea in pregnancy

Ingredients

• Pyridoxine hydrochloride (Vitamin B6) 250mg/5ml

Direction

Adults: by slow intravenous or intramuscular injection, 250 mg daily or as directed by a physician. Dose may be adjusted based on clinical response. For hospital/clinical use only.

Side effects

• Generally well tolerated at standard doses.
• Injection
• site pain or burning.
• Rare: allergic reactions (rash
• urticaria).
• Prolonged high
• dose use: sensory peripheral neuropathy (ataxia
• paraesthesia).

Precautions

• For use under medical supervision only.
• Contraindicated in known hypersensitivity to pyridoxine or any component.
• High doses over prolonged periods may cause sensory peripheral neuropathy.
• Use with caution in patients receiving levodopa (pyridoxine may reduce its efficacy in Parkinson's disease).
• Avoid in patients taking carbidopa
• levodopa only if high
• dose B6 is intended.
• Keep out of reach of children.
