Indication

- Serious respiratory tract infections - Skin and soft tissue infections - Bone and joint infections - Dental and oral infections in penicillin-allergic patients

Ingredients

• Lincomycin 500 mg

Direction

Usual adult oral dose is 500 mg every 6 to 8 hours, taken on an empty stomach with a full glass of water. Use only as prescribed by a doctor.

Side effects

• Diarrhea
• nausea and vomiting
• Abdominal pain
• Skin rash and itching
• Pseudomembranous colitis (severe)
• Low blood cell counts

Precautions

• Stop and seek care if severe
• watery
• or bloody diarrhea occurs (possible C. difficile colitis)
• Avoid in patients with a history of gastrointestinal disease such as colitis
• Use with caution in liver or kidney impairment
• Not effective against viral or fungal infections
