Amlocor-5 5 mg

Indication

Amlocor-5 contains amlodipine, a long-acting calcium-channel blocker indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension and for the prophylaxis of chronic stable angina pectoris and vasospastic (Prinzmetal's) angina. It can be used alone or in combination with other antihypertensive agents.

Ingredients

• Amlodipine (as Amlodipine Besilate BP) 5 mg

Direction

Adults: 5 mg once daily orally; may be increased to 10 mg once daily according to response. Elderly and patients with hepatic impairment: start at a lower dose. Tablets may be taken with or without food. Dose as directed by the physician.

Precautions

• Contraindicated in hypersensitivity to amlodipine or dihydropyridines
• Contraindicated in severe hypotension
• cardiogenic shock and severe aortic stenosis
• Use with caution in hepatic impairment
• Use with caution in heart failure
• Avoid grapefruit juice and strong CYP3A4 inhibitors/inducers without medical advice
• Pregnancy and lactation: use only if clearly needed
