Indication

Bioflor is a probiotic indicated for the prevention and symptomatic treatment of acute diarrhoea of various causes in adults and children, including viral and functional diarrhoea, antibiotic-associated diarrhoea, traveller's diarrhoea, prevention of recurrence of Clostridioides difficile infection, and as adjunctive therapy in acute infectious gastroenteritis together with oral rehydration.

Ingredients
  • Saccharomyces boulardii CNCM I
  • 745 lyophilised 250 mg
Direction

Powder for oral suspension. Empty the contents of a sachet into a glass of water or juice, or mix with food at a temperature below 50 degrees Celsius; stir and drink immediately. Can also be taken directly in the mouth and swallowed with a drink. Adults and children over 2 years: 1 to 2 sachets per day. Infants 3 months to 2 years: 1 sachet per day (only on medical advice). Duration of treatment is usually 5 to 7 days, or as directed by a physician. When used with antibiotics, space the intake by at least 2 hours.

Precautions
  • Do not use in patients with central venous catheters or those in intensive care
  • risk of fungaemia
  • Do not use in severely immunocompromised patients or those with serious underlying illness without specialist advice
  • Not a substitute for oral rehydration in children with acute diarrhoea
  • Consult a doctor if diarrhoea persists beyond 2 days
  • is accompanied by high fever or blood in stool
  • Do not mix with very hot (>50°C)
  • ice
  • cold or alcoholic beverages
  • this inactivates the yeast
  • Contains lactose
  • avoid in patients with galactose intolerance
  • total lactase deficiency or glucose
  • galactose malabsorption
  • Use in pregnancy and breastfeeding only when clearly indicated and under medical supervision
  • Keep the sachet tightly closed and protect from moisture
  • store below 25
