Indication

Combined oral contraceptive (family planning pill) for the prevention of pregnancy.

Ingredients

• Desogestrel 0.150 mg
• Ethinylestradiol 0.030 mg

Direction

Take one tablet daily at the same time each day for 28 consecutive days, in the order indicated on the pack. Start a new pack on the next day without interruption. 21 active tablets (desogestrel 0.150 mg + ethinylestradiol 0.030 mg) followed by 7 placebo tablets containing lactose.

Side effects

• Nausea
• Headache
• Breast tenderness
• Breakthrough bleeding
• Mood changes
• Weight changes

Precautions

• Contraindicated in women with a history of venous or arterial thromboembolism
• severe liver disease
• known or suspected breast cancer
• or undiagnosed vaginal bleeding.
• Do not use during pregnancy.
• Smoking increases the risk of serious cardiovascular side effects
• especially in women over 35 years.
