Indication

Management of type 2 diabetes mellitus as a combination of glimepiride and metformin hydrochloride when diet, exercise, and monotherapy do not provide adequate glycaemic control.

Side effects

• Hypoglycaemia (low blood sugar) — especially if meal is skipped.
• Nausea
• vomiting
• diarrhoea
• abdominal discomfort (metformin).
• Lactic acidosis (rare but serious — metformin
• particularly with renal impairment).
• Weight gain (glimepiride).
• Dizziness
• headache.
• Elevated liver enzymes (rare).
• Allergic skin reactions (rash
• urticaria).

Precautions

• Store below 30 C.
• Protect from sunlight and moisture.
• Keep out of reach of children.
