Primodil 5 5 mg

Indication

Treatment of hypertension and chronic stable angina / vasospastic (Prinzmetal's) angina. It may be used alone or in combination with other antihypertensive or antianginal agents.

Ingredients

• Amlodipine (as besylate) 5 mg

Direction

As directed by the physician. Usual adult dose is one tablet (5 mg) once daily; the dose may be increased up to 10 mg daily based on response.

Side effects

• Peripheral edema (ankle swelling).
• Headache
• dizziness
• flushing.
• Palpitations
• fatigue.
• Nausea
• abdominal pain.

Precautions

• Use with caution in patients with severe hepatic impairment
• severe aortic stenosis
• or heart failure.
• Rise slowly from sitting or lying position to reduce risk of dizziness.
• Inform physician of all other medicines
• especially CYP3A4 inhibitors.
• Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding without medical advice.
