Indication
Anthelmintic suspension for treatment of intestinal worm infections; use as directed by the physician. Do not use during pregnancy.
Ingredients
- Albendazole
Direction
Adults and children over 2 years (over 10 kg): 400 mg (10 mL of 200 mg/5 mL suspension) as a single oral dose for common intestinal helminths. Shake well before use. Take with or after food. May repeat after 2β4 weeks if required.
Side effects
- Gastrointestinal: nausea
- vomiting
- abdominal pain.
- Central nervous system: headache
- dizziness.
- Elevated liver enzymes.
- Reversible alopecia with prolonged use.
- Rare: bone marrow suppression
- allergic reactions.
Precautions
- Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to albendazole or benzimidazoles.
- Contraindicated in pregnancy (teratogenic)
- ensure effective contraception during use.
- Women of childbearing age should perform a pregnancy test before treatment.
- Use with caution in patients with hepatic impairment
- monitor liver enzymes.
- Monitor blood counts during prolonged therapy.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Discard unused suspension as directed on label.
