Quemox 500 mg

Indication

Chewable anthelmintic tablet for treatment of hookworm, pinworm, whipworm, roundworm and threadworm infestations in adults and children above 2 years.

Ingredients

• Mebendazole

Direction

Adults and children over 2 years: 500 mg as a single oral dose for intestinal worm infections. Chew or swallow with water. May be repeated after 2–4 weeks if reinfection risk persists. Take without food or with food.

Side effects

• Generally well tolerated at single doses.
• Gastrointestinal: mild abdominal pain
• diarrhea
• flatulence.
• Rare: hypersensitivity reactions
• urticaria
• rash.
• Rare: elevated liver enzymes with high
• dose prolonged use.
• Very rare: neutropenia
• agranulocytosis.

Precautions

• Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to mebendazole or benzimidazoles.
• Not recommended during the first trimester of pregnancy.
• Use with caution during the rest of pregnancy
• weigh benefit vs. risk.
• Avoid in patients with liver disease.
• Keep out of reach of children.
• Treat all household contacts simultaneously to prevent reinfection.
