Alphachymotrypsine 4.2 mg

Indication

Adjuvant treatment of post-traumatic or post-operative oedema.

Ingredients

• Chymotrypsine 4.2 mg (Alphachymotrypsine 21 microkatals)

Direction

Adults: 1 tablet 3–4 times daily, taken orally before meals. Or as prescribed by a physician. Swallow whole with water.

Side effects

• Gastrointestinal: nausea
• diarrhea
• mild abdominal discomfort.
• Rare: hypersensitivity reactions
• urticaria.
• Rare: prolongation of bleeding time.

Precautions

• Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to chymotrypsin or similar enzymes.
• Use with caution in patients with coagulation disorders or on anticoagulant therapy.
• Not recommended in patients with active peptic ulcer.
• Stop use and consult a doctor if allergic symptoms occur.
• Keep out of reach of children.
• Consult a doctor before use in pregnancy or breastfeeding.
