Indication
Anti-inflammatory and antirheumatic. Used for the relief of pain and inflammation in rheumatic and musculoskeletal disorders.
Ingredients
- Diclofenac sodium 50 mg
Direction
Adults: 50 mg 2–3 times daily with food or milk. Maximum 150 mg per day. Take orally with a full glass of water. Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration.
Side effects
- Gastrointestinal: nausea
- dyspepsia
- abdominal pain
- diarrhea
- constipation.
- Headache
- dizziness.
- Elevated liver enzymes.
- Fluid retention
- oedema.
- Serious: gastrointestinal ulceration or bleeding.
- Serious: cardiovascular events with prolonged use.
- Rare: renal impairment
- skin reactions (rash
- urticaria).
Precautions
- Contraindicated in known hypersensitivity to diclofenac or other NSAIDs.
- Contraindicated in active peptic ulcer or gastrointestinal bleeding.
- Contraindicated in severe hepatic
- renal
- or cardiac failure.
- Contraindicated in the third trimester of pregnancy.
- Increases cardiovascular risk (myocardial infarction
- stroke) with prolonged use.
- Use with caution in elderly
- patients with hypertension
- or those on anticoagulants.
- Avoid concomitant NSAIDs.
- Keep out of reach of children.
