Indication

Treatment of Meniere's syndrome, including vertigo, tinnitus, and hearing loss associated with the condition.

Ingredients

• Betahistine dihydrochloride 8 mg

Direction

Adults: 8–16 mg (1–2 tablets) three times daily, taken with meals. Swallow with water. Dose may be gradually reduced once symptomatic improvement is achieved. Treatment may be required for several months.

Side effects

• Gastrointestinal: nausea
• dyspepsia
• abdominal bloating (common
• usually mild).
• Headache.
• Rare: hypersensitivity reactions
• skin rash
• urticaria
• anaphylaxis.
• Rare: pruritus.

Precautions

• Contraindicated in known hypersensitivity to betahistine.
• Contraindicated or use with caution in patients with phaeochromocytoma.
• Use with caution in patients with a history of peptic ulcer (histamine
• related effect on gastric acid).
• Use with caution in patients with asthma.
• Consult a doctor before use in pregnancy or breastfeeding.
• Keep out of reach of children.
