Indication
Adjunct in the management of chronic alcohol dependence to support abstinence.
Ingredients
- Disulfiram 500 mg
Direction
Use strictly as directed by a physician. Typical initial dose 500 mg once daily for 1-2 weeks, then 250 mg daily maintenance.
Side effects
- Drowsiness
- Metallic taste
- Headache
- Skin rash
- Severe disulfiram
- alcohol reaction if alcohol is consumed
Precautions
- Do not consume alcohol in any form while on treatment and for at least 2 weeks after
- Contraindicated in severe cardiac disease
- psychosis
- hypersensitivity
- Use only under physician supervision
