Indication

Adjunct in the management of chronic alcohol dependence to support abstinence.

Ingredients

• Disulfiram 500 mg

Direction

Use strictly as directed by a physician. Typical initial dose 500 mg once daily for 1-2 weeks, then 250 mg daily maintenance.

Side effects

• Drowsiness
• Metallic taste
• Headache
• Skin rash
• Severe disulfiram
• alcohol reaction if alcohol is consumed

Precautions

• Do not consume alcohol in any form while on treatment and for at least 2 weeks after
• Contraindicated in severe cardiac disease
• psychosis
