Indication
Broad-spectrum anthelmintic chewable tablet for the treatment of intestinal worm infestations such as roundworm (Ascaris), hookworm, pinworm (Enterobius), whipworm (Trichuris) and strongyloidiasis. Used as a single dose or short course in adults and children as directed by a physician.
Ingredients
- Albendazole BP 400 mg
Direction
As directed by the physician. Typically a single 400 mg chewable tablet is given to adults and children over 2 years for common intestinal helminth infections; the tablet may be chewed, swallowed or crushed and taken with food.
Side effects
- Abdominal pain
- nausea
- vomiting or diarrhea.
- Headache or dizziness.
- Transient elevation of liver enzymes.
- Rarely
- rash
- itching or hypersensitivity reactions.
Precautions
- Do not use in pregnancy
- especially in the first trimester
- except on strict medical advice.
- Use with caution in patients with liver disease or blood disorders.
- Keep out of reach of children
- the chewable tablet can be mistaken for candy.
- Color: Sunset Yellow FCF
- Flavour: Strawberry
- avoid in patients with known allergy to these.
- Stop use and consult a doctor if severe side effects or allergic reactions occur.
