Hovid Allopurinol 100 mg

Indication

Hovid Allopurinol is indicated for the management of gout and hyperuricaemia. It lowers uric acid levels in the blood and urine and is used in the treatment of chronic gout, urate nephropathy, uric acid stones, and other conditions associated with urate overproduction.

• Allopurinol 100 mg

Direction

Refer to the package insert for dosage and other information. Take orally as directed by the physician, usually after meals with plenty of water.

Side effects

• Skin rash (may be severe)
• Nausea and abdominal discomfort
• Diarrhoea
• Headache
• Elevated liver enzymes
• Hypersensitivity reactions (rare but serious)

Precautions

• Stop treatment immediately if a skin rash or other hypersensitivity reaction appears
• Use with caution in patients with renal or hepatic impairment
